Winnipeg police reported an especially busy weekend with over eight major incidents over two days and 14 gunfire reports in a 24-hour period.

Beginning Saturday, May 23, until Sunday, May 24, the Winnipeg Police Service (WPS) experienced what they called "a particularly busy 24-hour period."

At 3:15 p.m., officers responded to a report of gunshots on Bannatyne Avenue. The Major Crimes Unit continues to investigate this incident.

Officers responded next to the area of Sargent Avenue and Furby Street for a male that had been shot. The victim is recovering in hospital, and the Major Crimes Unit is continuing with the investigation.

9:55 p.m, officers responded to a report of gunshots on Dufferin Avenue. An hour later, a male was spotted with a gun on Sutton Ave. Both these incidents remain under investigation.
