'A new life': Community worship service invites people to receive Christ-
Over 300 people were in attendance for the Community Worship Service at the Morden Corn and Apple Festival on Sunday morning, in Downtown Morden. The Morden Corn and Apple Festival has a long history spanning five decades, celebrating community. The service was hosted by the Morden Christian Programs Committee, and the worship band was comprised of members from seven local congregations. Sunday's worship service consisted of worship, prayer, a free-will offering, Scripture reading, guest speakers, a special music presentation by Rosemary Siemens, and a message from Charles Price. "When God created human beings in the beginning, He intended and described human beings as being in His image," mentioned Price in the sermon. He continued, "That [God's] image is not by human beings imitating God, it's by the life of God in human beings, enabling them to be what they were created to be." "This isn't just about a new start, it's about a new life," said Price, about being born-again after receiving Christ and following God's plan for humankind. At the end of the service, there was an altar call, and afterwards, worship concerts were held by local groups, including Bread We Break, based in Winnipeg. Sunday's service was a powerful reminder of the weight of the Gospel for Believers and an open invitation to others. View this post on Instagram A post shared by CHVN 95.1 FM (@chvn951)
