A 32-year-old woman has been arrested in relation to an attack on a senior in their own home last week.

The victim, a 73-year-old woman, was working in her back yard on May 20 when the suspect approached her and convinced her to let her in her house.

Once inside the suspect attacked the senior and stole her van.

The Winnipeg Police Service says they were able to arrest the suspect thanks to tips from the public.

They are, however, still trying to locate the victim's stolen vehicle.

The vehicle is described a beige/brown 2005 Dodge Caravan with rust along the bottom of both sides and denting on a passenger door. The vehicle may still have a licence plate of AVU 951.

Anyone with information that may assist investigators is asked to contact the Major Crimes Unit at 204-986-6219 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
