Christian artist Leanna Crawford released a new single called 'Still Waters (Psalm 23)' which honours her great aunt's incredible faith that had a ripple effect throughout her life.

Crawford's story of coming to Christ involves her late aunt Maurine, of whom she sings in this track.

"'Still Waters (Psalm 23)' is an incredibly special song to me because it's in honour of the woman who led my mom to Christ, my 103-year-old great aunt Maurine," says Crawford on Facebook. "When she was in her 40s she learned she was going blind so she decided to memorize the entire Bible before her sight left her."

Crawford shares that her great aunt ended up memorizing 90 per cent of the Bible before fully losing her sight.

"I only got to meet her once but it changed my life forever in how I view God's word - how the Bible is living and there is a scripture for every joyful, painful, or in-between moments in our lives."

On top of bringing a message of peace to those who are anxious through her single, Crawford is donating 100 per cent of net proceeds from all pre-orders purchased on her website to help those in need of water.

"It’s charity: water’s goal to provide clean and safe water to the 703 million people living without clean water today and I’m so excited to help support this goal," says Crawford.

Crawford's debut album Still Waters will be released on July 19. Her music video to 'Still Waters (Psalm 23)' comes out May 31.
