The goal of Chiwaz's new music is to bring praise, honour, and glory to the Lord as he collaborates with other artists pursuing deeper relationships with God. 

Shepherd Chiwandire, known musically as Chiwaz, is originally from Zimbabwe and lived there before moving to Winkler, Manitoba. 

As for what brought the artist to Canada, he shares, "My wife. We met when she came to Zimbabwe on a missions trip."

The couple has been married now for eight years and is currently expecting their third child. 

"I grew up in a musical home. I used to do sound engineering for live stuff. But I always knew there was something burning in me. Then I got into church and serving, leading worship."

Chiwaz says his music is infused with an Afro-beat. Each time he writes a new song, he says it's a time of prayer and worship.

"The last year and a half I felt God say, it's time for you to pursue this and share your story through music. Reach out to people and build relationship."
