A Christian artist says that since she began sharing her personal experiences of racism fans have been leaving her in droves.

Since the death of George Floyd in May racism has come to the forefront of the conversation around the world. Jamie Grace has begun to speak out about her own experiences.

"It has come to my attention that a lot of my friends, peers and followers on social media did not know/do not know that racism still exists," Grace writes in a June 13 post. "I’ll be sharing some personal experiences to help assist in that area as needed."

In the first experience she shared in June she told the story of a pastor who said he would not have invited Grace to his church if he knew she was Black.

Since then, Grace has continued to share stories as well as amplify others' experiences. She says that she is now losing followers on social media as a result.

"I lost about 3,000 twitter followers after sharing my personal stories as a victim of racism and articles about things like white privilege and how to be anti-racist," Grace tweeted last week.

Grace says she's grateful for those who have remained following. "So to everyone that’s still here... thank you... and... Nothing’s changed on my end!! Still Black!"
