There are seven newly married couples at a church in the United States after the pastor preached against cohabitation.

"Wedding Day" took place on September 29 at Bent Tree Bible Fellowship's campus in Carrollton, Texas.

Charisma News reports that Bent Tree's senior pastor, Pete Briscoe, said "I encouraged couples in our church who were living together to really think through whether that was God's best for them. At the end of the sermon, we gave them the option that if they felt God was leading them to get married, we would hold a free wedding for them on this one specific day."

The sermon was part of a series called "Awkward." The Christian Post says that the series "focused on conversations about relationships and marriage that people would rather not have because it's "awkward." Along with his sermon on cohabitation, the series also focused on submission in marriage, counselling and remarriage."

30 people a the church volunteered to help with the day donating photography, cakes, and even dresses. The day saved each couple thousands of dollars, Charisma News says.

In a social media post, the church wrote that "The Wedding Day at Bent Tree was a day full of divine moments. 7 brides, 7 grooms, 7 ceremonies, 14 “I do’s,” 14 rings, tons of hair spray (sic), and one Savior in the middle of every covenant."

The day began at 10:00 a.m. with a ceremony every hour except for a break at noon for lunch.
