Fall construction is leading to the temporary closure of some Winnipeg routes this weekend.

The City of Winnipeg says two streets and one bridge will be temporarily closed for parts of the weekend.

"Motorists are advised to use alternate routes to reach their destinations during these timeframes," the City says in a statement.

Beginning on Friday at six p.m., McGillivray Boulevard, from Pembina Highway to Beaumont Street will be closed. The City says railroad crossing repairs are being done during this time. The route will reopen at 11 p.m. on Sunday evening.

On Weston Street, between Logan Avenue and Alexander Avenue, construction being done in the area requires the route to temporarily close.

Beginning at 6 a.m. on Saturday until 11 p.m., the street is closed to traffic.

Additionally, the Arlington Bridge is remaining closed to motorists due to ongoing repairs.
