Investigations are ongoing after several violent incidents that occurred during May Long Weekend.

The Winnipeg Police Service says starting early Saturday, the first of four reported stabbing incidents in Winnipeg occurred.

At around 1:30 a.m. in the 200 block of Fountain Street, Central Division officers responded to a stabbing call. When they arrived, a 35-year-old man was brought to the hospital in unstable condition, where he remains stable.

The next day around 10:45 a.m, a 25-year-old man walked through hospital doors, telling the staff he was stabbed. The man is in stable condition and spoke with police after hospital staff contacted them.

Hours later, at around 4:50 p.m. in the 400 block of Edmonton Street police were called to an altercation between two men. When arriving at the apartment, officers learnt one of the pair stabbed the other. The 20-year-old victim was brought to the hospital in unstable condition. At this time, officers located the 18-year-old suspect in the area, taking him into custody and giving him medical care for injuries from the earlier altercation.

The suspect is facing six assault and breach-related offences.

On Monday, two people, a 21-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman, both brought themselves to the hospital with stab wounds. Both are in stable condition. Police say they have spoken with the pair.

Arrests have not been made in three of the four incidents, and investigations are ongoing for all.
