RCMP say that two inmates have gone missing from Stony Mountain Institution.

On February 25, 2018, at 10:10 pm, Stonewall RCMP received a report of two missing inmates from the minimum security unit at the Stony Mountain Institution.

Officers attended and were advised that the two inmates were last seen at the 7:30 pm headcount. A search of the area did not locate either inmate.

William Benjamin Hunter-Garrioch, 21-years of age, is 5’7”, and weighs 126 lbs. He has a medium complexion, brown eyes, brown hair and has a scar on his left wrist.

Dale Jacob Gilchrist, 34-years of age, is 6’2”, and weighs 201 lbs. He has a fair complexion, blue eyes and brown hair. He has tattoos on his neck, abdomen, chest, arms, hands and right leg.‎

Police believe both inmates may be on their way to Saskatchewan and have issued warrants for their arrest.

They have a history of violence and should not be approached. If seen, please call police immediately.

Stonewall RCMP along with Correctional Services Canada continue to investigate.
