A woman who caused a commotion is set to appear in court after RCMP offices found her asleep in a parked vehicle, surrounded by prohibited weapons.

On Thursday evening, RCMP officers were called to a Selkirk home on Clandeboye Avenue to respond to a disturbance. The owner of the home said one of the house's residents caused a commotion but then she had left.

Noticing a weapon that was prohibited in plain view, officers began to search the home. Officers say they in total they found a machete and three knives in the home.

Leaving the home, officers began to look for the 29-year-old suspect, finding her nearby, asleep in the back seat of a vehicle.

RCMP officers say they arrested and searched her, finding a small amount of methamphetamine and several BB guns. She was taken into custody and is now released.

The suspect will appear in court in April for weapon and drug-related charges.

Authorities continue to investigate.
