The Winnipeg Police Service is still looking for two more suspects after a group of people were sprayed with bear spray at the Forks on Sunday afternoon. 

On July 24, 2022, at approximately 5:45 p.m., the WPS responded to The Forks grounds for the report of a group of people who had been assaulted.
 
Officers from the Central District attended and located three people suffering from the effects of being sprayed with an unknown substance. One of the accused, who fled, was arrested and placed in custody by officers following a short foot pursuit.

A 12-year-old male, a 15-year-old female and an 18-year-old female were transported to the hospital and were released.
 
Officers believe the three victims were approached by three suspects who sprayed them with what was determined to be bear spray repellent. Officers also believe the attack was unprovoked.
 
The accused and the victims were not previously known to one another.
 
The WPS is still searching for two suspects.
 
A 17-year-old male of Winnipeg has been charged with the following offences:
 
- Assault with a Weapon x 3
- Possession of a Weapon
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order x 2
 
He was detained in custody. The investigation continues.
