The province is announcing one additional probable case of COVID-19 this Tuesday, bringing Manitoba's total count to 21 lab-confirmed and probable positive cases.

The latest case is a man in his 40s who lives in Winnipeg. Officials continue to investigate to determine whether the case was related to travel.

Dr. Brent Roussin, Manitoba's Chief Provincial Public Health Officer says anyone returning to Manitoba from outside the country or province should self-isolate and self-monitor for 14 days. Manitobans are also strongly encouraged to cancel or postpone any non-essential travel. This includes international travel and travel within Canada.

The Steinbach drive-thru testing site at the Community Health Services Building on 365 Reimer Avenue continues to be operational from 9 AM to 3 PM seven days a week.

Lanette Siragusa, Chief Nursing Officer, explains a referral from Health Links is needed and the sites are not walk-in clinics.

"Call Health Links, let them know what your situation is and they can help with screening and give you direction," she says, adding only Manitobans with respiratory symptoms who have travelled outside of the Province in the last 14 days or have had contact with a confirmed or suspect COVID-19 case.

The public is reminded that a referral to these sites is needed and they are not walk-in clinics. Information on locations and hours of operation is available here.
