A family, once in the spotlight for their ever-growing household, is again front and centre.

Amazon Prime is preparing to release a new docuseries, Shiny Happy People: Duggar Family Secrets, sharing inside information about the Duggar family.

For years, the Duggars were a household sensation featured in TLC's reality television shows, 19 Kids and Counting and Counting On

Amazon Prime says Shiny Happy People: Duggar Family Secrets is a limited docuseries exposing the truth beneath the wholesome Americana surface of reality TV’s favourite mega-family, The Duggars, and the radically controversial organization behind them: The Institute in Basic Life Principles (IBLP).

For the first time, Jill Duggar Dillard will go on the record with her own story and be joined by family and close family friends who witnessed what went on behind the scenes firsthand.

"There is a story that is going to be told, and I'd rather be the one telling it," said Jill Duggar Dillard in a trailer for the new docuseries.

Earlier this year, Jinger Duggar Vuolo shared her side of the story in her book, Becoming Free Indeed: My Story of Disentangling Faith from Fear.

"What people didn't see was the fears I was wrestling with, and the anxiety and the perspective of God that I feel was a harmful perspective of God," Jinger explained. "That came from a teacher that I followed named Bill Gothard."

"It took me so many years of walking through those teachings to figure out I want to move away from this because I see it's not based in the Bible, and it's a distorted view of who God actually is."

Shiny Happy People: Duggar Family Secrets is set to be released on Prime Video worldwide on June 2.
