Students at a Winnipeg high school used their artistic visions to beautify the community garden initiative planters outside of Harvest Manitoba.

The youth in Grades 9 to 12 at Balmoral Hall, got the idea after Harvest Manitoba Education Coordinator, Jen Gair held a presentation on food insecurity.

This sparked their imagination and in collaboration with Harvest Manitoba, the kids created a variety of art pieces that they worked on together as a team.

Before painting their final designs on the planters, the students drafted their visions on ceramic models they made.

"The final result is the beautifully painted planters," said Balmoral Hall School in a post on social media.

The planters are located in front of Harvest Manitoba located at 1085 Winnipeg Avenue.
