To some, it might be just another day on the calendar, but for others, it's a way to bring God's work to light.

In recent years a grassroots campaign has taken place on social media with Christians taking March 16, or 3/16, as a day to share the well-known John 3:16: "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life," (NIV).

It's "the verse that changes everything." What many people often forget, is that those words in verse 16 are Jesus' own words. He's speaking to a man named Nicodemus, who was a leader in the Jewish community. Nicodemus came to Jesus under the cover of darkness so that he could personally question Jesus and find out more about this man's message, without his friends or other leaders seeing him.

Jesus takes the time to lovingly explain that he has come to do his work because of God's great love for all of creation. One simply needs to believe, Jesus says, and they will never die.

That is a message worth sharing and celebrating.
